Dusty Attic August Challenge

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!  I decided to give a VERY old layout a HUGE update using three fantastic Dusty Attic chipboard pieces (scroll, title and lacing) and lots of great Dusty in colour paints too.  I had to "borrow" this heritage layout from my dad since I gave it to him for his 60th birthday (picture of him and his mom). This was the very FIRST "antique" layout I created... but it looked so plain and really sad in the frame in my parent's house.  It was in desperate need of chipboard and paper layering for added texture.

It was actually the August Dusty Attic monthly sketch challenge that inspired me to revisit this layout... starting with the lacing piece to anchor the page.
Don't forget to enter your interpretation of this beautiful sketch for a chance to win some chipboard goodness! Link to the right side of the DA blog to enter.

Here is a close-up of the scroll and title chipboard that was primed, painted, crackle varnished, glazed and inked.

Another look at the layering of paint, crackle varnish, glaze and ink.
